In Filiatra, a provincial town, its remaining residents are toiling to cover debts and struggling with everyday boredom. What keeps Andreas, a tailor, awake, is his love for sports. He is regularly training and longing for the next local race. When he finally realizes he is too old to compete with younger athletes, he decides that there is nothing for him in Filiatra. He moves to Athens and begins his new life waiting patiently for better days to come. Crushed by the urban turmoil, in contrast with Vassilis, a young acquaintance of his, full of optimism and hope for a better tomorrow.
