A young nobleman called Orlando is commanded by Queen Elizabeth I to stay forever young. Miraculously, he does just that, he does not age a day. The film follows Orlando’s philosophical quest throughout several centuries, while experiencing a variety of lives and relationships with other people along the way, and even changing sex.
